Since Laurie Davis was a tween, she has been intrigued by online communications. To her parents’ dismay, she grew up in chat rooms and on Instant Messenger. Then, 12 years ago, she wrote her first online dating profile. An early adopter of flirting on the Web, she learned what always to do … and what never to do. After encouraging her friends to join various dating sites, she became their go-to for online dating advice and developed a passion for helping singles with the online written word. After losing several contracts during the recession as a Fortune 500 marketing consultant, inspiration struck. Forty eight hours later, with only fifty dollars and a Twitter account, Laurie founded eFlirt Expert. Now, she works one-on-one with singles and has trained other Certified eFlirters with the company’s proprietary method. Laurie was nominated Best Dating Coach in the 2012 iDate Awards. She has been featured in over 200 international media outlets including Entrepreneur Magazine, The NY Times, Good Morning America, Forbes, Men’s Health and The Washington Post. She’s also a contributor to The Huffington Post, CNBC, YourTango and DatingAdvice.com among others. Her book, Love At First Click: The Ultimate Guide to Online Dating, will be released by Atria Books, a division of Simon & Schuster, in January 2013. She is engaged to her tweetheart, Thomas Edwards, founder of The Professional Wingman, who she eFlirted with in 140 characters on Twitter. |
