As most of you know, we at eFlirt Expert love to get creative, especially when we write. And one of our company perks is getting together with our Copy Cuties over dinner and drinks to chat about fun ideas for our editorial calendar, also known as Copy Cutie Cocktails! Basically, it’s an excuse for us to get together under the guise of work and dish about our fave topic — boys! — whether things with a cutie or significant other are fab, failing, or somewhere in between. And of course, we use our lives as inspiration for upcoming blog posts. We usually meet at our favorite neighborhood Mexican restaurant, Gabriela’s, but when MommyJuice Wines reached out and asked us if we wanted to sample their wine we decided order in and hold our most recent dating dish sesh at Laurie’s UWS apartment. Who can refuse a few bottles of vino courtesy of a cool, woman-owned company?
To make the eve even more interesting, Laurie live tweeted our night and our followers shared with us what dating advice they wanted us to cover next. From the definition of a ‘psycho girl’ to how far is too far to date someone, we got the convo going on Twitter. But of course, the MommyJuice wine played a crucial role — everyone knows the best ideas come from a little boozy inspiration.
The first bottle we opened was a Chardonnay. The tropical flavors of pineapples, guava bananas were great to get the artistic juices flowing, and were a complimentary pairing to our dinner (take-out Thai).
Certified eFlirter Jess Hartman liked the white. “It’s not too sweet, which I like — I don’t like sweet wine.” Clearly we agreed, since we finished ALL of it.
But when we opened up the red we were more than pleasantly surprised! The MommyJuice Red is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Grenache, Syrah, Zinfandel, Carignan, Cinsaut and Malbec. It might sound like a mouthful, but the complex combination had the rest of us buzzing … and we mean that in a good way!
Copy Cutie Paola Hernandez said, “I normally don’t drink red but I’d definitely drink this.” Laurie agreed: “My go-to is white, but I love this red!” And as someone who also normally prefers white, I thought the red was delish and called it “buttery” — definitely a comforting wine to end a long workday with.
While MommyJuice’s target demo is, well, moms, any wine lover can appreciate these vinos. And even though none of us is a mommy (yet), we all agreed that it was a tasty way for single mother’s to relax when kids are in bed, or better yet, during date night with a significant other in the backyard or on a park picnic. Guys, if you’re dating a single mom, pull this bottle out the next time you cook dinner for your hot mamma at home. It’ll definitely score you some brownie points!
